When I approached Kent Saddlery with a new saddle enquiry I had fairly specific requirements. I am a bigger person with a history of back injury.

I was thoroughly impressed that everyone I dealt with at Kent Saddlery took the time to not only find out what my specific needs were as a rider, but they acted on those needs, the proof of this is in the amazing saddle I now have! My Kent saddle places me in an excellent riding position. The saddle causes me no back pain and no numbness in my legs or feet and just as importantly fits my horse like a glove!!!! …when you folks say "custom" you aren't mucking around.

This is the best saddle I have ever owned! Love my Kent!!!!!!!!!!!

I own and run “Dynamic Performance Horses”, Warmbloods and Warmblood Crosses bred for temperament, movement and type. Versatile horses that are enjoyable to be around at prices everyday folk can afford!

Got my first pony when I was 6 and the first day I rode I got my foot stuck in the stirrup and got dragged a fair way before Dad could catch the little fella. Dad said if I wanted to get on again there'd be no saddle, so it was bareback for me from then until I was about 12yrs, Then I started to get trained by a coach for dressage for about 4 years or so.

With a pause in proceedings for Senior and Uni, then back with my horses, and into Warmbloods, fitting them in around work, from my early 20's 'til now. Now I have the absolute pleasure of spending all my time working with our horses.

My wife brought my new saddle home from the post office just on dark. As I unwrapped it, she went inside to put tea on. When tea was ready, she couldn't find me. I was out in the paddock riding around in the dark. I was like a kid with a new toy. The saddle is better than I expected as it fits me and my four horses perfectly. The cable rigging is a terrific innovation as it allows the saddle to be placed closer to the pivot point on rough horses and sits fine further back on the rocking chairs.

I could fill a couple of pages on riding experiences from my early days in Broken Hill, on stations and campdrafting, gymkhanas, etc to riding the high plains, the upper Murray River areas and tentpegging at Royal Shows and competing overseas, but that's another story.

I should have got
one years ago.

I had two or three good gutsers off a young horse and Lance Girdler said I was mad and too old to even try to ride that horse. After the dust settled and me telling him in choice Australian to mind his manners and show a bit of respect for his elders, he convinced me to get a bit more saddle, one like his (555). Swallowing my pride I talked to Kents and was soon in the seat of a you beaut model No.1554. I will now be the first one to say I should have got one years ago.

Thanks for everything, the saddle is a confidence builder with the young horses and great for general everyday riding.

Very comfortable and secure. Coco loves the saddle, is happy to be caught and is happy to be ridden. What an amazing transformation. Before, with my English saddle, she wouldn't stand to be mounted and was restless when it came to saddling up. Now she actually stands for me to mount and she waits for me to put the saddle on her back and do up the girth before she moves. We have no muscle wastage on her back that you can get with some saddles from pressure points, which tells me that the saddle is a great fit, which tells me Lyle is great at judging the tree sizing, etc from the photos and wither tracing of her back.

I have one word to
say about the saddle….
WOW
It looks great on her as well as being comfortable to ride. My friends are very impressed with the saddle and with the quality of the leather.

Coco is used for general farm duties, stock work and I feel really safe and secure on her with this saddle. Lyle and his team were great. I have never imported anything from overseas let alone a saddle.

Lyle was very helpful and the service was great. I love telling the doubters “I told you so”.

My Western Drafter Saddle is the most comfortable saddle I have ever ridden. It was everything I wanted it to be. The difference it has made to my horses is unbelievable. From having a horse that bucked and shied and did not freely move forward, I now have a horse that can go anywhere and do anything. I have had family and friends ride in the saddle with one saying “it's like riding in an arm chair” and another vowing that the next saddle she buys will be a Kent saddle. I have found the cable rigging to be fantastic with assisting fitting and girthing the saddle on a wide range of horses from quarter horses to a Clydesdale. I would highly recommend your saddles to anyone who will listen. I love it! Thanks Kent Saddlery.

It was everything
I wanted it to be.

I'm a nurse from Teesdale, a small rural town in Victoria. I'm also the proud owner of a Kent Saddlery Western Drafter saddle. For someone who has ridden as long as they could walk this is by far the most comfortable saddle I have ever ridden in.

I enjoy riding through the bush with friends, just getting lost for the fun of it, sometimes for up to six hours at a time. I have also helped organise large group rides to local pubs to get other horsey-minded people together for a bit of laid back fun.

Firstly I would like to express my deep gratitude to the Kent Saddlery team. Not only do they produce superior quality saddles they are wonderful people who provide a service second to none.

To describe my new Kent saddle in one word I would have to say PERFECT. It is the most comfortable and versatile saddle I have ever owned. My only wish is that I had found out about Kent saddles a lot earlier than I did!

Ever since getting my Kent saddle, I can honestly say it is an absolute joy to ride in.

in one word I would have to say PERFECT.

The cable rigging gives me the flexibility to adjust and suit any horse I ride, which I have never found in a saddle before. I also feel far more confident and safer when riding my young green horses. So a big heart felt “Thank you!”. I love my horses and I love my new saddle.

Thank you all very much. I have been frustrated fitting a saddle to my 14.2 hands quarter horse mare. What a difference it makes when you finally get it right. One very happy horse and rider. I have always had a padded seat for extra comfort, but Lyle was right when he said you don't need it if the saddle fits. It would be one of the most comfortable saddles I have ridden in. Thanks once again, if I ever need another saddle, I'll be back.

I took up riding when I was about 12 years old, attending the local riding school which led to buying my first horse at around 16 and I have been enjoying riding ever since. I have been involved in a wide range of equestrian activities from showing Arabs to training pacers but I am enjoying my riding now more than ever.

I took on the position of Secretary of the Tasmanian Mountain Cattlemen's Association about 12 years ago, and I am lucky enough to take part in the gathering and droving of cattle on the West Coast of Tasmania, the highlight of which was being selected as one of the 8 drovers on the Bicentennial Cattle Drive. I am also a member of the the Mountain Cattlemen's display team, doing displays at race meeting and special events as well as attending local parades. I ride on average 3-4 times a week, which includes some stock work, and I especially enjoy trail riding as Tasmania has some of the most wonderful country you would come across anywhere.

Over the years I have had a variety of good quality saddles but I have found my Kent saddle to be the best by far. On days when I spend long hours in the saddle the comfort of my "Kent" is second to none and when doing stock work I feel very safe which is saying a lot as my quarter horse mare can be very quick on her feet when the situation calls for it.

I live at Mena Creek in Far North Queensland, where I break & educate young horses. I have been "obsessive compulsive" about horses from the moment I could remember & have been working with them for most of my life on jobs including contract mustering, station work, sheep & cattle droving & educating young horses for polo, eventing, dressage, jumping, racing, stock work, showing & pleasure riding. My partner's Kent saddle is nearly 10 years old now & gets some pretty heavy use in our very tough tropical climate as I 'borrow' it whenever I can. Even so, it still looks good enough to go on show.

I regularly ride in very hilly country & find I don't need to use a crupper or breastplate or have the saddle "over tight". It also sits well on many different builds of horses.

It is by far the best & toughest all round saddle I have ever had the pleasure to ride in. The only way I could be happier with it is if I actually owned it myself!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for a job well done, keep up the good work.

A Kent Saddle is Her Throne

There's a saddle she's permitted
To use but not to own.
It's a loved & valued treasure.
A Kent saddle is her throne.

By craftsman 'twas created,
Great skill & care they've shown.
A thing of quality & beauty,
But as durable as stone.

It sits well on her horses backs,
For fit it stands alone.
Moves not an inch once it's been girthed.
It's kind to flesh & bone.

Though she's conquered many outlaws,
From it's seat she's ne'er been thrown.
She knows it's worth it's weight in gold,
It's here she feels at home.

There's no need to have a palace,
Nor a place to call her own
For she is queen of all she sees.
A Kent saddle is her throne.
