Paul Cave, Curragh Lodge, Warwick Farm, NSW
Equaliser Southern Drafter Saddle

I have owned my Kent Saddle for 5 years now and I still enjoy riding in it every day. I have been training racehorses for 30 years; my stable Curragh Lodge currently has 12 horses in training. Over the years I have had the  pleasure to train many good horses including Respect, winner of the Perth Cup and QLD cup, Lahar who was 3rd in the Melbourne cup and Pasta Express, a multiple group winner and 8th in the Melbourne Cup. I have also won the Christmas Cup 7 times with various horses, and have trained Sadarar, Run Rita Run, The Free Stater and German Chocolate as well as many others.

Curragh Lodge is situated at Warwick Farm in Sydney and we have  access to river trails and bush tracks which are great for all horses, young and old. I use my Kent Saddle on my lead horse Dakota when we ride along with our string. We have to walk alongside a main road with trucks hooting along. It’s vital that I’m able to be right there to give the young horses confidence and also grab a horse if it needs it. My track riders would love to be in a Kent saddle at this stage.

I am sometimes in my saddle for up to four or five hours a day and the saddle has been on a variety of horses, from small stock horses to big Irish Sport and Clydy crosses. I have not had one sore backed horse and as for myself, I feel secure and comfortable in the saddle. The saddle is tough and long lasting.

I have recommended Kent Saddlery to all my friends.

Paul Cave
