“The first David Farmilo shoeing school we participated in was in March 2004 where we were introduced to David's Hoof Line tool. I found the school to be very interesting, and easily understood the basic principles that David was teaching - ABC Hoof Care which is Assessment, Balance and Correction. By using David’s method we were able to get everyone on the same page and use the ‘Hoof Line’ to correctively balance our horses’ hooves.
Straight away I could see a huge improvement in everyone’s shoeing and they were doing it
in half the amount of time it would normally take.
David came to Helen Springs for a further three years and said that he could see an improvement in the staff’s shoeing ability and soundness of the horses being shod.
We are still using the same method of shoeing and have found that our horses are sound and
ready for work each day.
The staff now have the tools and knowledge to perform shoeing with limited supervision.
